The 5,658th Anniversay of the Creation of the World Celebrated by Pious Jews
As soon as the first three stars become visible in the firmament tomorrow evening Rosh Hashana, or the Jewish new Year, will have been ushered in. This means to the 10,000,000 Jews throughout the world the beginning of a series of festal days lasting almost an entire month. No matter how indifferent to the traditional tenets of Judaism the modern Israelite may have become, or how deeply his whole mind and soul may be engrossed in his business, on two of these days at least--Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, of the Day of Atonement--he will be found worshipping in temple or synagogue, unless he be entirely alienated from the faith of his illustrious ancestors.
